PSN Online In America and Europe, NOT Japan

Posted by on May 16, 2011 at 10:15 AM EST

psn onlineSony continues to bring its Playstation Network back online but Japan isn’t having it.

Is PSN back online? Well, Americans and Europeans are now enjoying their Playstation Network games and are back in business; despite a minor setback on Sunday in which Sony had to bring the network down again due to a server overload. Japan users of the PSN are not as lucky as the Japanese government is not allowing it to come back online. Why would they do such a thing?

It seems Japan wants Sony to ensure that the security of PSN Online is ironclad. I guess the Japanese government is actually concerned about its citizen’s personal information being stolen; imagine that. Regardless, I am sure Sony is working overtime to ensure the Japanese officials that their network security is beefed up so that Japan customers can get back online!

Now that this whole Sony PSN online hacker debacle is over, I’d like to hear from you all. Are you happy that you can once again play your PS3 and SOE PC games? Did the downtime make you switch to a different console? Do you think Sony’s network will be hacked again? Will Xbox Live ever be hacked to such a large extent? Comment below with your thoughts!
