Morning Robot: Jennifer Lopez, Boston Rob, Nick Cannon
Happy Monday! This past weekend brings us a bunch of interesting celeb news. For instance, Nick Cannon opens up about having been visited by Child Protective Services…while Mariah Carey was still in the hospital! While American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez tries to perform in LA, she has a microphone malfunction…how do you think she handles it? Finally we discuss the recently revealed winner of Survivor…Rob Mariano!
As you’ve probably heard, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon recently became parents to twins, Moroccan and Monroe. What you may not have heard is that the celebrity parents had to speak with Child Protective Services, while still in the hospital! Nick Cannon opened up to Pier Morgan about the incident, saying, “Child Protective Services actually came to me while I was in the hallway and said that they were here to see me because there had been allegations that there was drug and alcohol use during the stay in the hospital…I was like, ‘Well, how would that even be possible? How could the hospital even allow that?” Apparently, this all happened due to misinformation…Mariah is still in hospital and recovery from her April 30th delivery, as she underwent a C-section.
A star-studded lineup held by KIIS FM in Los Angeles took place on Saturday. Celebrity performers included Romeo, JC Chasez, Joe Jonas, Ryan Seacrest, Britney Spears, Ke$ha, and T-Pain. American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez was also on the lineup. However, when J.Lo went on stage to perform, there were some technical difficulties; Lopez’s microphone went out and her and her dance crew were forced to perform even though nobody could hear them. Despite the malfunction, Jennifer Lopez said, “We’re not gonna let that get us down, are we? Nobody keeps mama down!” Lopez then re-performed the song, giving the crowd an appreciated encore.
Sunday saw the long-awaited finale of Survivor: Redemption Island, and with it, Boston Rob Mariano has emerged triumphant! The 35-year-old year old was no stranger to the Survivor series; this was Rob’s 4th season of the show! So how does Rob Mariano feel about the $1 million win? “You don’t know for sure until the votes are read, but I had a pretty good feeling…I played my heart out. I love this game, but you’ve got to get lucky along the way, too. I know what it takes. It’s really, really difficult. I’m really, really happy things happened the way they did this time.”
