Morning Robot: Robert Pattinson, Ashton Kutcher, Matthew Perry
It’s finally Friday! I hope your week has been great, now relax and get ready for the top celebrity news for today. Perhaps the most surprising news is that Ashton Kutcher will be replacing Charlie Sheen on Two and a Half Men. I hope Demi Moore’s hubby knows what he’s signing up for (I’m expecting a lot of animosity from Sheen!) Today, Robert Pattinson also turns 25, and Matthew Perry returns to rehab. Read on for details!
It’s official. Ashton Kutcher will be replacing Charlie Sheen on Two and a Half Men! There was tons of speculation that Hugh Grant, or Rob Lowe were taking the role, but Ashton was a total dark horse, sweeping in from….wherever he’s been! Demi Moore will definitely be proud of the actor, who will be making a lot of bank on the show. While Kutcher hasn’t blatantly stated that he has landed the role, he posted the following on Twitter: “What’s the square root of 6.25?” The answer? Two and a half!
Robert Pattinson is halfway to 50! Today the actor celebrates his birthday, and will doubtlessly be showered with birthday wishes from tons of teenage vampire fanatics. Pattinson will be sharing the occasion with Twilight co-star and girlfriend, Kristen Stewart, in Canada. When the star was asked about what he wanted for his birthday, he gave a simple answer. “I have no idea-I don’t really want anything. I like old Hanes T-shirts. That’s genuinely the only thing-I seem to go through and lose them all the time.” If you’re friends with Rob, hit up your local thrift store and go buck wild! Cos this now-25-year-old star doesn’t seem too high maintenance! Happy Birthday Robert Pattinson!
The final news of today is that Friends star Matthew Perry is returning to rehab. The actor has had two stints in rehab before; in 2001 he was admitted to rehab for alcoholism, and in 1997 he went for pill addiction. Matthew Perry released a statement to TMZ saying, “I’m making plans to go away for a month to focus on my sobriety and continue my life in recovery.” Perry continued, “Please enjoy making fun of me on the world wide web.” I don’t like kicking people when they’re down, unless they’re realllly asking for it. I wish the best to Matthew Perry and hope he gets through rehab okay.
