dwts chelsea kaneChelsea Kane and Hines Ward dominated on the dance floor during week 8 of the 2011 Dancing With The Stars compeition.

It was an action packed episode of Dancing with the Stars last night as each of the five remaining dancers had to perform twice. As you might imagine some did a lot better than others. (Chelsea Kane, Hines Ward) Their first dance was a normal rehearsed dance. The second dance was what they call an “instant” dance. With the instant dance the dancers know what dance they are doing, but they won’t know what music they are going to dance to until 20 minutes before the dance. Here are this week’s DWTS winners.

Chelsea Kane continued her dominance of the dance floor and was the biggest winner of the week. Her waltz was perfection. It was smooth, romantic and emotional. The crowd loved it, the judged swooned and she got a score of 29 – the first dancer to get two 10’s on one dance this season.  Her instant dance was the salsa. After the waltz was over they picked an envelope out of a bowl and found out their music would be Sean Paul’s “Get Busy.” Their salsa wasn’t as good as the waltz, but Chelsea looked smoking hot in her outfit and the dance was fun and energetic. The judges gave them a 26 for a total of 55 out of 60 for the week.

The second winner of the week was Hines Ward. He has been the model of consistency this entire season and that continued tonight as he took the floor for a foxtrot that was technically sound and very impressive. They got a 28, only one point less than Chelsea and Mark. They selected “Chantilly Lace” by Jerry Lee Lewis as the music for their instant dance, a Jive. The problem Hines had was that he had not danced a Jive yet this season so not only did he have to learn it fast, but his first performance was in the instant dance. He turned on the cheese factor and had a lot of fun. His score of 26 gave him a total of 54 out of 60 putting him only one point behind Chelsea for the top spot on the  DWTS leaderboard.

Chelsea Kane and Hines Ward were the two clear cut winners this week. If either one of them were sent home this week it would be one of the biggest upsets in the history of Dancing with the Stars, but it is getting close to the end so you never know what will happen. Tune in tonight at 8PM on ABC for the live results show to see if Chelsea and Hines Ward are safe and move on to the final four.
