crystal bowersoxThe American Idol top 6 performed last night (April 27, 2011) and here is a quick recap of their performances.

Last night the American Idol contestants sang Carole King songs.  There are six contestants left.  Let’s take a look at how it went with these performance ratings:

Jacob Lusk was up first.  He sang Oh, No Not My Baby.  Jacob was movin’ and groovin’ during the performance.  The judges liked it.  J. Lo thought he killed it.  They hope he sticks around.

Lauren Alaina sang Where You Lead.  So Miley Cyrus visited only Lauren to give her a pep talk.  Steven Tyler and J. Lo liked the performance.  Randy though she was safe and boring and wants her to continue to push hard.

To probably stretch the time between six performances, American Idol threw in some duets on last nights show.  The first duet was Haley Reinhart and Casey Abrams.  They sang Carole King’s hit I Feel The Earth Move.  Steven was the only one who said something.  He thinks that Casey is in love with Haley!  Ha – Steven you’re a bit late on those thoughts.

Next up was our country boy Scotty McCreery.  Scotty sang You’ve Got a Friend.  Randy said the performance was almost flawless.  Steven thought Scotty has never sang batter.  J. Lo thought his strength is in the storytelling and thought he did that beautifully.

James Durbin sang Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow.  This guy is fabulous.  He made the song his own.  J. Lo called him the star of the night and Randy thinks he will win the whole competition!

Once again, another duet. This time by Lauren and Scotty.  They sang Up On The Roof.  J. Lo gave her thoughts this time and said they both did a very good job.

Casey Abrams was up next and sang Hi-de-ho.  The judges loved it and felt the song was written for him.  Another good performance by Casey.

Haley Reinhart sang Beautiful.  Steven thought she nailed it.  J.Lo said she has the best voice in the competition.  Randy wasn’t sold in the beginning of the song, but like it at the end.

Last was a duet by James and Jacob.  They sang I’m Into Something Good.  Steven said he enjoyed it.

Tonight, Crystal Bowersox and Bruno Mars (love him!) will be performing.  Will your favorite be going home tonight?  It’s getting down to the wire and will be very difficult at this point because they are all performing well.  Yes, even Haley Reinhart.  She wasn’t my favorite for a while, but she is proving to be worthy of the competition.
