American Idol 2011 – Miley’s Mentoring Madness

miley cyrus american idolThe American Idol top 6 perform live tonight (April 27, 2011) on FOX.

Word has it that Miley Cyrus will make a surprise appearance on American Idol tonight!  Look for Lauren Alaina to get the most out of this.  Alaina sang Miley’s “The Climb” a few weeks back.  Miley will be mentoring Alaina along with the other contestants for this week’s competition.

Miley Cyrus will be mentoring along side Interscope Record’s Jimmy Iovine.  Iovine caused a bit of a stir a few weeks ago when he told Alaina that she was a much stronger singer than Miley Cyrus was.  Should be interesting how the two interact tonight.  Although, a source from the show indicates that Jimmy has apologized for Miley and personally asked her to come on the show.

That being said, tonight, the remaining six American Idol contestants will perform music by Carole King.  So if they are performing Carole King’s songs, why the hell is Miley Cyrus mentoring them?  Really, Miley Cyrus is mentoring these kids?  She’s a pop sensation, not someone who has fabulous vocal ability.  She’s a kid herself.  Yes, she may have been in the business a while, and she’s definitely been around it her whole life.  You remember, her dad, Billy Ray had that hit song “Achy Breaky Heart.”  So is that enough to justify her to mentor the remaining contestants?  Personally, I don’t think so, but whatever.  Sometimes American Idol can get pretty cheesy too.

Tune in tonight on FOX at 8pm to watch this week’s American Idol 2011 performances.  The show will be an hour and half tonight.  Only so much they can do to stretch the programming time with just six contestants left.

  1. I was so mad when Stefano got voted off… So I went online and looked for an automatic American Idol voting system and I found one that can get in 20 votes every 5 minutes. It’s insane!
