Dancing With The Stars 2011: Guilty Pleasures Ratings Recap
Who’s DWTS Guilty Pleasure paid off? Maybe all of those young girls from the early 90’s when Hanson kicked off the night with their famous tune “Mmmbop.” Looking much older as expected, and not as cute I might add, the teeny bopper boy band from the 90’s revved up the crowd for the Guilty Pleasures week on Dancing With The Stars.
Who had the guiltiest pleasure? Well it seems as though Romeo and Chelsea Kane sure did. They received the first 10 of the Dancing With The Stars season. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba handed out the coveted 10 paddle to Chelsea Kane and Romeo. Romeo and partner Chelsea Hightower danced the waltz to Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On.” Romeo ended the dance with a passionate kiss to his partner which may have sealed the deal. At least, for Carrie Ann anyway. Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli gave them a 9, giving them a final score of 28 out of 30 from the judges.
Chelsea Kane danced with partner Mark Ballas the quick step to Katrina and the Waves hit song “Walking On Sunshine.” Danced in a bright yellow skimpy outfit, Chelsea also donned nerdy frames. The judges loved it. Carrie Ann awarded her second 10 of the night. Chelsea and Mark earned 28 out of 30.
Carrie Ann also loved the not expected, Kendra Wilkinson. Kendra danced a samba with partner Louie Van Amstel. The judges were pleasantly surprised with her performance. Maybe this is the boost that Kendra needs to get her out of that pouty spoiled brat funk she’s been in. Kendra and Louie earned 25 points out of a possible 30 from the Dancing With The Stars Season 12 judges.
What seems to be a growing trend, there was another mishap this week for one of the couples. Ralph Macchio and partner Karina Smirnoff danced the paso doble to C + C Music Factory’s “Gonna Make You Sweat.” Karina fell over her DWTS partner during the routine, but Ralph didn’t blink an eye. He picked his partner up and continued like a professional. They got it together and pleased the judges. They earned a 24 out of 30 points from the judges.
Football great Hines Ward and his partner Kym Johnson danced the Viennese waltz to Boyz II Men’s “End of the Road.” The judges loved him and his performance, and the pair ended up with a score of 27 out of 30.
Kirstie Alley and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy danced the samba to Britney Spears’ “Hit Me Baby One More Time.” The judges thought she had made a return from the dazzle she gave them in week one. She and Maks ended up with a score of 26 out of 30.
Wrestler Chris Jericho and partner Cheryl Burke danced a tango to Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’.” He did not wow the judges at all. The Dancing With The Stars 2011 judges though maybe the pressure had gotten to him and gave him a score of 22 out of 30. Chris ended up at the bottom of the leader board for judges scoring. Tune in tonight to find out who is eliminated this week.
