Today’s morning dish involves three very different celebrities: Emma Watson, Simon Cowell, and Lindsay Lohan. Watson is in the news for transferring from Brown to another school in the Fall. It seems like something her character from Harry Potter, Hermione, would raise an eyebrow at! Meanwhile, despite their differences of opinion as judges on American Idol, Simon Cowell is reportedly trying to get Paula Abdul to perform as a judge on the American X Factor. Finally, we have Lindsay Lohan, who has been granted a reduced charge from her Los Angeles Superior Court Judge. As you can imagine, this caused controversy to ensue.

It had been rumored that Emma Watson would be taking a break from Brown for a while now, but until now, no one suspected that the 21-year-old actress would transfer schools. The rumor mill alleges that it is due to bullying, but Watson’s rep, Vanessa Davies, claims otherwise. According to Davies, Emma Watson’s decision to leave stemmed from wanting to take courses that Brown doesn’t currently offer, and according to Davies, Emma “absolutely loved her time at Brown.”

Meanwhile, Simon Cowell has his eyes on Paula Abdul for being a role on his upcoming X Factor series. In Cowell’s own words, “I missed her the [second] she left Idol…Always loved working with her, although she can be a pain.” Judging by their interactions on American Idol, that sounds like a pretty accurate statement! Then again, Cowell is aware that having different personalities on his panel of judges can make for an entertaining viewing experience. According to Cowell, “There should be tension to a point…I liked the Idol panel when we first started. We had different opinions, and I think it’s important you have different opinions.”

Lindsay Lohan’s jewel crime has been reduced from a felony to a misdemeanor, and this has caused a lot of controversy. Right now, prosecutors are considering appealing the judge’s decision; according to Danette Meyers, “The judge abused her discretion in her case…it was a felony filing because the defendant was on probation…she violated on numerous occasions…the evidence was extremely strong.” Lindsay Lohan’s misdemeanor reduction could mean that the troubled actress could avoid the jail time that typically comes with felony charges.
