Today in celebrity news, Mel Gibson has announced that he no longer cares about being in films anymore. The actor has met a lot of controversy over the past few years, which is part of the reason why he is now apathetic towards acting. In other news, ex-American Idol contestant Pia Toscano may have her album released far sooner than others might have expected. Finally, Michael Jackson’s “death photos” may be brought to court during Dr. Conrad Murray’s trial.

Meanwhile, Pia Toscano is doing well, despite having been voted off of American Idol two weeks ago. Despite not winning Idol, Toscano has a healthy fan ban, and is likely to debut her first album before the American Idol winner premieres his or hers! Besides this, Toscano will be performing on next Tuesday’s DWTS, which will doubtlessly give her more press and popularity.

BBC has reported that photographs of Michael Jackson’s autopsy may be shown during the trial of Dr. Conrad Murray, due to Judge Michael Pastor’s permission. Prosecutors argued that the photographs should be allowed, in order to show that Michael Jackson was in a healthy state before he passed away. District Attorney David Walgren comments on the photographs, saying, “Although they are tragic, they are not gruesome or gory.”

In a very candid interview, Mel Gibson explained that he no longer cares about his success, as far as acting is concerned. “I could easily not act again,” declared 55-year-old Gibson, who has come under heat for leaked recordings between him and his ex that put him in an unflattering light. Of those recordings, Gibson says, “Who anticipates being recorded? Who anticipates that? Who could anticipate such a personal betrayal?”
