American Idol 2011: Final 7 Elimination Predictions, Recap
Last night the American Idol Final 7 contestants performed songs from the 21st century. Some of them did extremely well (Casey Abrams) while others failed miserably (Stefano Langone). Here’s a breakdown of how the performances went:
Scotty McCreery was up first. He performed Swingin’ by Leann Rimes. His performance was good. The judges actually gave him some criticism. They told him his song choice was too safe. Too boring.
James Durbin was next and did Uprising by Muse. James rocked the house. The added touch of the marching band drummers made it even more memorable. The judges gave him nothing but high praise. This kid is going to the end of this competition for sure.
Haley Reinhart – ugh, Haley. I never look forward to when she performs. However, last night, I actually enjoyed her performance. She sang Rolling in the Deep by Adele. She looked good, sang well, and the judges liked it.
Jacob Lusk – disappointed me last night. Jacob sang Dance With My Father by his idol, Luther Vandross. He performed well, but it just didn’t do it for me. It wasn’t one of his best performances, and it’s getting down to the nitty gritty at this point. You have to constantly bring you’re A game. Jacob didn’t do that last night, and the judges did not give him rave reviews as well.
Casey Abrams – my boy Casey. He sang Harder to Breathe by Maroon 5. He rocked it last night on American Idol. He gave an enjoyable performance and did something different. The judges liked him. (I wish he would stop making that angry face when he sings though – makes him look extremely silly.)
Stefano Langone – ugh please, enough already. Vote this guy off. I can’t stand it anymore. They hyped up his “sex appeal” before his performance, and it just made me want to switch the channel at that point. But I continued to watch so I could write this. Stefano sang Closer by Ne-Yo. He oversang the song in spots. Of course the girls were screaming at the end. But as far as his talent is concerned, he can’t match with the other contestants at this point.
Lauren Alaina – sang Born to Fly by Sara Evans. Eh, not good. She seemed to have coasted through it. Didn’t give it her all. The American Idol judges did not care for it and tried to build her confidence up, which they think she is lacking. She needs it bad at this point of the game. She needs to step it up.
Bottom three predictions – Lauren Alaina, Stefano Langone, and Haley Reinhart. Going home: Lauren.
