Is American Idol Voting Fair or Flawed?
Is the voting on American Idol fair or seriously flawed?
The voting system on “American Idol” may have just been thrust into an extremely dark and despicable place. Coming off of last night’s shocking elimination of frontrunner Pia Toscano, it makes one wonder if the integrity of the Idol voting system is fair or flawed. Isn’t it obvious that Idol is a popularity contest more so than an actual judge of talent?
Does America have entirely too much control over the outcome of American Idol? If you watched the show last night then the answer is clearly, YES! The judges pick the contestants to a certain point and then it’s up to America to decide who they want to be their next Idol. Have you heard what “America” calls music these days? They in no way shape or form should have the sole power to decide a potentially amazing artist’s (Pia Toscano) fate. Sure, let the people vote but don’t let that be the only deciding factor in sending one of the contestants home.
If you don’t think the American Idol voting is a popularity contest then perhaps you need a wakeup call. Case in point from this season, Stefano Langone is still on the show. STEFANO remains; Pia Toscano eliminated. I think FOX and IDOL should screen the voting system and make sure no tween girls who have a crush are allowed to vote; it’s only fair to the “real” artists.
Of course I am still bitter over Pia Toscano leaving American Idol last night and this is my rant. I do really believe the American Idol voting system is severely flawed and needs to be fixed A.S.A.P. What are your thoughts? Check out the poll below and tell me how you feel. Good Luck Pia!
