Constantine Maroulis: Original ‘Idol’ Rocker Performs!
American Idol’s original rocker performs live tonight on American Idol.
Do you remember Constantine Maroulis? He was a finalist for American Idol in Season 4 of the program, and has since gone on to do some pretty fantastic things! Maroulis has been keeping himself very busy through touring; he is currently starring in the critically acclaimed Broadway production, “Rock of Ages” and has also been involved in the Broadway production of “The Wedding Singer.”
Tonight is a particularly befitting night for Constantine Maroulis to perform, because the theme for this week was Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Constantine was one of the first contestants to bring an edgier style to American Idol; from the beginning he made it clear that he was interested in rocking out.
This, in turn, inspired other contestants to perform in the “rock” niche, which may have inspired old school rocker Steven Tyler to join as a judge. After all, Constantine Maroulis’ auditioning song was “Cryin,” by Aerosmith!
Tonight, Constantine Maroulis will be performing his version of “Unchained Melody.” He has also recently released several tracks on iTunes, including Chicago’s “25 or 6 to 4,” so if you tune in tonight and you dig what you hear, be sure to check him out there too, or buy his upcoming DVD, “A Night at the Rock Show.”
