new york jets baltimore ravens espnOdds have the New York Jets favored to win over the Baltimore Ravens in tonight’s Monday Night Football match up on ESPN.

The New York Giants broke New Meadowlands Arena in with a win yesterday afternoon and tonight the New York Jets hope to follow suit as they face off against the Baltimore Ravens in tonight’s Monday Night Football on ESPN. The New York Jets made a splash last year as they made the playoffs and took a lead into halftime against the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC Championship game. They eventually lost to the Colts, but that success has left them with high expectations. They come into tonight’s game – the first of a double header of Monday Night Football – as a 1.5 point favorite.

Like the New York Jets, the Baltimore Ravens are another team that many are picking to make a run at the Super Bowl. As Joe Flacco continues to develop and the team surrounds him with weapons, the Ravens finally find themselves with an offense that is as good as the defense has always been. The Ravens signed veteran wide receivers TJ Houshmandzadeh and Anquan Boldin in the off-season. Matched with Derrick Mason, the Baltimore Ravens now have one of the most talented receiving squads in the league. With Ray Rice running the ball and Flacco now with multiple targets the Ravens could light up the scoreboard.

This season the HBO show Hard Knocks focused on the New York Jets. Jets head coach Rex Ryan made no secret of the fact that he feels this team should be in the Super Bowl this year. He expects nothing less. Baltimore Raven’s veteran linebacker Ray Lewis has said that all Hard Knocks did was give him information on how to beat the New York Jets. It also gave him fuel to his fire to defeat his former coach. Rex Ryan was the defensive line coach when the Baltimore Ravens won the Super Bowl in 2000 and was the Raven’s defensive coordinator from 2005 to 2008.

Both the New York Jets and Baltimore Ravens are now almost mirror images of each other. Both have upstart, young quarterbacks. Both have talented running back and wide receivers and both believe they have the best defense in the league. With an over/under of 36.5 the odds makers expect this one to be a defensive struggle. Whether it ends up being big plays on defense or offense that wins the game, one thing is for sure, this is going to be a physical, smash-mouth style of game as both teams set out to prove they are the alpha dog in their respective divisions.

Here’s the Odds for tonight’s Ravens Vs. Jets from Bet Us:
Baltimore Ravens +1.5 (-110), Over 36.5 (-110) more.
New York Jets -1.5 (-110), Under 36.5 (-110) more.

Watch tonight as the odds favor the New York Jets when they match up against the Baltimore Ravens in the first game of the NFL Monday Night Football doubleheader at 7pm ET on ESPN.
