NCAA Tournament 2011: UConn Huskies Road to Championship
A look at the UConn Huskies and their road to the 2011 NCAA National Championship Game.
The UConn Huskies weren’t originally thought to make it to the NCAA Championship Game 2011, but they were also not the number 8 seed pick in the NCAA Tournament. While a lot of support has been given to the “underdog” team, the Butler Bulldogs, let’s not forget what UConn has going for them.
One of the great things that UConn has on their side is consistency. They are one of the most powerful college teams around because of it, and have been for a while now. This gives a team like UConn confidence, which can ignite their game big time tonight. The Bulldogs on the other hand, may play with more hesitation.
UConn also has more talent on their side. While Butler has some awesome players like Shelvin Mack, UConn surpasses Butler when it comes to raw talent. Unfortunately, Shelvin Mack has been relied on too heavily in these past few games, and there is a disproportionate amount of talent when it comes to Butler’s players. UConn has guys like Kemba Walker (who will likely be named MVP in the Final Four) and Jeremy Lamb, who have been relentless these past few weeks.
The UConn Huskies are likely to defeat the Butler Bulldogs tonight. That is the truth, plain and simple. If you would prefer it to different, give Butler a lot more money and power so they can get the players that would be needed to win the 2011 NCAA National Championship Game.
