Who is Top Dog in 2011 NCAA Championship?
Butler vs. Uconn at the 2011 NCAA National Championship Game airs live tonight at 9|8c.
In this dog eat dog world, will it be the UConn Huskies, or the Butler Bulldogs that prove to have a palate for canine? There are a lot of factors to consider. Neither one of these teams were pegged to make it to the NCAA National Championship and that is why college basketball is such an exciting and dynamic sport.
This is the second year in a row that Butler will have made it to the NCAA National Championship Game. They’ve been touted as the underdog, but statistically, they have a stellar profile. The Bulldogs are a strong team that has surprised a lot of professional odds makers. But does their 14 game winning streak make their victory more probable?
The Huskies, on the other hand, are statistically the favourite, and they have a lot of strong players and Kemba Walker’s powerful manoeuvres on their side. But is UConn worn out? The Bulldogs have a terrific defence, which makes them a formidable (albeit surprising) force for UConn to battle.
Despite the charm that comes with Butler’s fairytale finish, I don’t see them winning the NCAA National Championship. While Matt Howard and Shelvin Mack have shown a lot of passion and potential in their game, UConn won’t fall short in the championship game, especially with their impressive winning streak. Butler is currently on fire, but may be brutally defeated in this final game.
