Jennifer Lopez Disses Cole, Uses American Idol
Jennifer Lopez disses Cheryl Cole and uses American Idol to jumpstart her career.
American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez has been using the show to promote her new single, and her technique is working! Her latest single “On the Floor,” which features Pitbull, has been steadily climbing the charts, ever since she began marketing the track through the show. Will Steven Tyler use American Idol to promote Aerosmith? It seems doubtful, unless the band changes their genre to “pop.”
Jennifer Lopez has also been in the news lately, due to (perhaps unintentionally) dissing Cheryl Cole. Cheryl Cole is huge in the UK, and has made it clear for some time that she hopes to be a judge on the American version of the X-Factor.
The Daily Press quoted Lopez as saying, “Someone mentioned Cheryl to me yesterday. She’s a singer, right? I don’t know much about her and I don’t know her music. But I would be happy to learn.” It’s well known that Jennifer Lopez replaced Simon Cowell, so it shouldn’t seem surprising that the pop star maintains a cool demeanour when the discussion turns to Simon Cowell’s X-Factor, a show likely to rival American Idol in the future.
