Taylor Swift and Michelle Obama teamed up with the NFL yesterday at Brock Elementary in New Orleans, Louisiana. As a part of the NFL Play 60 campaign, the two first ladies, Michelle Obama being the first lady of the United States and Taylor Swift, the first lady of Country music, teamed up with some former NFL players to help fight childhood obesity.

Swift and Obama teamed up with NFL players to help spread the word on the NFL Play 60 campaign and to address the ongoing battle with childhood obesity in America. Among the NFL players was: Deuce McAllister (formerly of the New Orleans Saints), Derrick Brooks (formerly of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers) and Eddie George (formerly of the Tennessee Titans).

While at Brock Elementary in New Orleans, Louisiana, Michelle Obama also spoke on behalf of her “Let’s Move!” campaign. The first lady even changed into her workout clothes and got down and dirty on the field. See kids, being healthy isn’t all that bad, even the first lady of the United States can do it!

All in all Taylor Swift and Michelle Obama, in conjunction with the NFL Play 60 campaign had a successful day in New Orleans. The main goal of their visit was to promote healthy living habits and battle the epidemic our country is faced with, childhood obesity. Both Swift and Obama believes that they reached out to the children and have laid small but influential stepping stones to end the childhood obesity epidemic.

The day of course was not complete without a little bit more incentive from the first lady, Michelle Obama. Obama finished the day off in New Orleans with Taylor Swift with this question: “Did you know that if you follow play 60 and you keep moving for 60 minutes everyday that you can get an award from the president?” That is right boys and girls; if you maintain an active, healthy lifestyle you can win the Presidential Active Lifestyle Award.
