supermoonWerewolves and moon lover’s alike, get ready for tonight’s (March 19, 2011) “super” full moon.

Supermoon as it is being dubbed online, is really known as a super full moon or as NASA defines it, the “perigee moon.” Tonight (March 19, 2011) when the sun sets, the extremely rare Supermoon will rise in the east. Scientists are saying [via YouTube video] that the the moon will be the biggest and brightest it has been in over 20 years. If you are awaiting a perfect opportunity to get an amazing photo of the moon, tonight is the night. With the “perigee moon” burning bright, I’d expect it to remain lighter outside the later it gets, throwing some people’s sleep patterns off.

NASA has posted a YouTube video explaining the rare Supermoon. I figure it’s better to have real scientist explain the “perigee moon” rather than myself typing out a bunch of gibberish. Anyways, get ready for the super full moon tonight and make sure your camera has fresh batteries in it. I hope you all enjoy this Super Full Moon video by NASA, explaining the “perigee moon” that will occur tonight:
