American Idol Results – March 18, 2011
Who went home last night on American Idol 2011?
Did you know that the American Idol 2011 judges can “save” a contestant that has been voted off? They are only allowed to do this once per season, the decision must be unanimous and it has to happen before the competition reaches the Top 5. Well, last night, they didn’t waste their save. No surprise there.
The bottom three was announced: Naima Adedapo, Haley Reinhart, and Karen Rodriguez. (No surprise there, either). These contestants also happen to have the least amount of Twitter followers. There is an American Idol Twitter theory out there. Did you know that too? However, the contestant with the lowest number of Twitter followers, Naima Adedapo, didn’t go home, so that breaks the entire theory.
Karen Rodriguez was announced as having the lowest number of votes. She was able to sing a song for the “save.” She chose Mariah Carey’s song “Hero.” After the judges discussed it, Randy Jackson gave Karen the bad news that the decision wasn’t unanimous and that she wouldn’t be saved. Karen thanked the American Idol 2011 judges and accepted the decision well.
Earlier in the American Idol results show, Lee DeWyze performed his new single “Beautiful like You” from his new CD, “Live It Up.” The Black Eyed Peas also performed their new single, “Just Can’t Get Enough.”
Next week, we’ll see the Top 11 perform in the next round of competition. Do you think America voted correctly? Karen Rodriguez was definitely in my bottom three. It’s not that the girl can’t sing, she can. But she is not American Idol 2011 worthy. Not yet anyway.
