Zune Dies; IE 9 Launches
Microsoft’s ZUNE player is officially dead as Internet Explorer 9 launches.
Long live the ZUNE as Microsoft’s attempt to stick it to the man (Apple iPod) has officially died. Just as the Windows giant launches Internet Explorer 9 (IE 9) today, it delivers news that its ZUNE media player is dead and will no longer be produced. I guess this is sad news for those people who actually knew that ZUNE even existed. I am sure many other consumers thought the only way to listen to music, portably was on one of those “iPod” thingies.
While the ZUNE has died today, Microsoft has given birth to IE 9 (Internet Explorer 9). Hopefully the Windows browser does not see its death in the near future but with Google Chrome becoming dominant, I wouldn’t doubt it. For all of the ZUNE fans out there, fear not, it is said that Microsoft will continue to develop the “software” side of things for those who use it on there console/phones.
If you haven’t already check out IE 9 which launched today and pour out some liquor for our fallen homie, the ZUNE which died today, March 14, 2011.
