2010 cma awards2010 CMA Awards Female Vocalist Of The Year Nominees.

The 2010 CMA Awards Nominations were released yesterday and the Female Vocalist Of The Year category offers some amazing female singers from the country music scene. Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Carrie Underwood and Reba McEntire are all set to duke it out for a shot at being crowned the Queen of country music and shiny CMA Award to add to their trophy case.

Miranda Lambert, who is the frontrunner with 9 CMA Awards nominations, is one country-singing woman you would not want to mess with. Her bad girl attitude and downright refusal to conform to the stereotypical pop-princess demeanor is what has carried her to the top of the charts in country music. Miranda’s album “Revolution” is up for Album of the Year and Miranda Lambert is in the highly coveted Entertainer of the Year category.

Our next nominee, Taylor Swift is a name known in almost every household. The young country superstar will offer some stiff competition to Miranda Lambert. Coming off one of the best-selling tours of the summer, Taylor has just recently released her brand new single, “Mine” which is the first single off her highly anticipated “Speak Now” album.

Newlywed Carrie Underwood is also in the running for the CMA Award for Female Vocalist of the Year. Fresh off her honeymoon with husband Mike Fisher, Underwood got right back into the game, releasing her new single “Mama’s Song.” On top of being nominated, Underwood will host the 2010 CMA Awards for the third year in a row.

Old redhead Reba McEntire is also in the running for the CMA Award. I have no idea how she snuck her way into this category as the very sound of her voice makes my ears bleed. Someone must have felt bad that the category for Best Female Vocalist were all young singers who are actually talented.

Our last nomination at the 2010 CMA Awards for Best Female Vocalist goes to Martina McBride. While she may not be as youthful as Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert, she is equally as talented and looks damn good for her age. Martina’s latest single, “I Just Call You Mine,” a catchy romantic tune, has gotten the female singer quite a lot of buzz.

Braid Paisley and Carrie Underwood are ready to host the 2010 CMA Awards, which air Wednesday, November 10th at 8/7c on ABC.

  1. Very disrespectful about Reba! Even if you don’t like her, I wouldn’t refer to her as the old redhead….Someone that has been singing now for four decades, has had more than 30 number one songs and been winning these awards since the 80’s is apparently doing something right. To be 55 years old and continue to out perform the younger generation and be nominated for these awards, shows me that her heart is in the music. Some do not like her sound and that’s fine, but she deserves to be recognized for all of the years and hard work that she has put into her career.
