Tina Fey Wins Top Comedy Award

Comedian Actress Tina Fey will receive the annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. The prize is said to be one if the highest comedy honors in the United States. Besides Lily Tomlin and Whoopi Goldberg, Tina Fey will be the only woman to receive the covenant award in thirteen years.

Tina Fey is not on a successful comedian and actress but she’s also a role model for women everywhere. Tina Fey is 40-years-old and has already won six Emmys and two Golden Globes for her TV show ’30 Rock’, where she not only the show’s star, she also writes and directs the hit series. Tina Fey was also a ‘Saturday Night Live’ star where her popularity soared with her Sarah Palin impersonations.

The Mark Twain Prize honors people who have had an impact on society comparable to the 19th century satirist and writer of novels The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.  Previous winners include George Carlin and Steve Martin. Tina Fey will receive the award on November 13th in New York.
