Weeds Season 6 Episode 3 Recap: Mary-Louise Parker Is One Hot Maid
Dawning their new Newman identities, Nancy, Silas and Andy are hired as servants in the hotel industry.
Weeds Season 6 Episode 3 Recap: Mary-Louise Parker slums it as a hotel maid in last night’s episode: “AYippity Sippity” on Showtime. Mary-Louise Parker sure as hell makes the short-haired wig and maid’s outfit look sexy.
We join up with the newly formed Newman clan as they are on running low on cash in Seattle. Nancy Botwin (Mary-Louise Parker) plans to keep this new family “normal.” That means that the old ways of Botwin drug slinging are out of the question. Nancy, Silas (Hunter Parrish) and Andy (Justin Kirk) all enter a hotel in which most of its workers are on strike. Thus, the normalcy of the Newman’s will shine through, as the clan gets “real” jobs for this sixth season of Weeds.
Nancy is hired on as a maid and is quickly made aware of how much a real job sucks. Her first room looks like a bunch of teenager’s, drunk off wine coolers, completely demolished it. Nancy throws on her gloves and let’s the cleaning begin. Of course, on breaks she can be found at the hotel bar, slinging back a couple of cold ones with the hotel guests.
Silas is hired as the bellhop of the hotel and is offered quite the lucrative proposition. A rich hotel guest offers Silas $50 a page if her were to sit in his room, in his underwear and read aloud to him. As creepy as that sounds, as long as there was no touching or filming, for $50 a page I would sit there naked and read aloud to the guy. Especially since the Botwins are hard up for cash.
Andy Botwin is hired as a dishwasher in the Hotels restaurant. Immediately Andy and the head chef declare war on each other. Andy, being the self-taught chef that he is, tries to give the head chef of the restaurant ideas. Of course, the head chef looks at Andy as nothing more than a dish washing piece of trash.
Meanwhile, the murderous psychopath Shane Botwin (Alexander Gould) is left to look after little baby Botwin, while the rest of the crew works their real jobs. In a sick and twisted way I found the segments last night with Shane quite hilarious. I mean here you have it, this kid just murdered a woman in cold blood and he’s drinking a latte, pushing a stolen baby stroller down the street. That right there folks is dark comedy at it’s very finest. Shane Botwin is now my favorite character from Weeds Season 6.
We end last nights Weeds Season 6 Episode 3 with Nancy Botwin back on the drug-dealing wagon. Nancy has devised a plan to use Weed leftovers to make hash in the dryers of the hotel. Will the Newmans go back to their old drug-dealing ways?
Tune in next week as Weeds Season 6 returns Monday night at 9PM ET/PT on Showtime.
