The Daily Show With Jon Stewart Wins Emmy Award
The Daily Show With Jon Stewart Wins Its Eighth Consecutive Emmy Award.
The Daily Show and Jon Stewart have done it once again at the 2010 Emmy Awards. The Comedy Central news/comedy show won Best Variety Series last night at the 62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards for the eighth time in a row, beating out Conan O’Brien, the man whom everyone wanted to see win.
Speculation and shear animosity is circulating the Internet today, as people are furious that The Daily Show with Jon Stewart won this award yet again. In the category, Best Variety Show, there were some tough competitors. Somehow Jon Stewart managed to beat out The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien, Betty White on Saturday Night Live and The Colbert Report.
Many had high hopes that Conan O’Brien would win Best Variety Series last night at the 2010 Emmy Awards. Conan has been through quite a deal over the past year, when he was pretty much fired from The Tonight Show because Jay Leno decided he wasn’t ready for retirement yet. Of course, this did not happen, Jon Stewart somehow came out on top and Conan O’Brien got shafted once again.
To add more fuel to the fire, Jon Stewart was not even at the Emmy Awards! The guy is so used to winning this Emmy Award that he just doesn’t show up anymore. Way to go Jon Stewart, your “Daily Show” beat out all of these outstanding shows and you can’t even show up. Talk about a slap in the face!
Personally, I could care less about what happened with Conan O’Brien and Jay Leno but still find myself pissed off. Betty White’s Saturday Night Live extravaganza should have taken home the Best Variety Series Emmy. It’s freaking Betty White! The Golden Girl might be as old as dirt but she is still an amazing actress. I am convinced that Betty White is going to outlive us all. Thus being said, Jon Stewart and The Daily Show should not have won! Please Jon Stewart, hand over that Emmy Award to Saturday Night Live and Betty White, Thank You!
Other than Jon Stewart robbing the Best Variety Series award for the eighth time in a row, the 2010 Emmy Awards were quite entertaining. I was surprised for sure but Jimmy Fallon did an amazing job hosting.
