Oscars 2011: Actor in a Leading Role Predictions
Oscars 2011 Actor in a Leading Role Predictions.
And the Oscars 2011 Actor in a Leading Role nominees are: Javier Bardem for “Biutiful,” Jeff Bridges for “True Grit,” Jesse Eisenberg for “The Social Network,” Colin Firth for “The King’s Speech,” and James Franco for “127 Hours.” Franco also happens to be hosting the awards this year with Anne Hathaway. On a side note, Franco and Hathaway are the two youngest hosts of the Oscars in Oscar history. Here is my prediction for winner of Actor in a Leading Role.
The Oscars 2011 front runner is Colin Firth for his role as King George VI in “The King’s Speech.” Firth has won the BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role, and a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Drama, as well as a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role.
Wouldn’t it be something if some of the nominees that have been flying under the radar like Jesse Eisenberg or James Franco came off with a last minute upset in the Oscars 2011? But I seriously doubt that is going to happen. Firth has been the front runner for a while, winning all of the other awards, he’s the one to lose to. Although I would have to admit, I wouldn’t mind seeing Javier Bardem win. This would soley be an excuse to look at his gorgeous face. If the nominees won on looks alone, it would be a close tie between Bardem and Franco! And Firth would come in dead last. Sorry Colin! I am just calling it as I see it.
