2011 Oscar Nominations; Prop Bets!
The 2011 Oscars will be coming at us live on Sunday night; place your bets!
There has been a lot of wages placed on who will win what at the Oscar’s (Academy Awards), and some of the prop bet categories are downright bizarre! Many betting sites allow you to place a wager on conventional matters, such as the odds of winning best actor (Colin Firth), best actress (Natalie Portman), best visual effects, and best writing.
However, there are also somewhat zany Oscar betting categories where those with a gambling spirit can bet on things like, “Will any Oscar recipients fall on their way to the stage?” Amusingly, the site has made it extremely clear as to what constitutes a fall so stumbles won’t be ambiguous. According to Bodog, “At least 1 hand must touch the floor to be considered a winner.”
Another amusing category is “How many of the Big 3 winners (Director, actor, actress) will visibly cry when receiving an award?” which comes with the stipulation “Only during award and acceptance speech. Bodog’s decision is final.”
Do you have a mind to gamble? Perhaps you would like to place a bet on whether or not Geoffrey Rush will be wearing a hat inside the theatre (“Red carpet does not count must be shown in theatre wearing a hat?”) Whether gamble or not, I’m betting that the 83rd Academy Awards will be something you won’t want to miss!
