Top Chef DC plays ball tonight on Bravo. Coming off their “Covert Cuisine” challenge of last week, the cheftestants are visiting the great American past time. That’s right ladies and gentlemen; we are headed to a ball game. You know where it is all about cold beer, peanuts, mystery hot dogs and the roar of the crowd.

Tonight the cheftestants are going to be challenged with cooking at Nationals Park. They must top the normal fan-fare of delicious hot dogs and ice-cold beer. While I am glad that they are paying homage to the great American past time, I am not sure Top Chefs belong in a baseball stadium.

The whole reason of going to baseball games is to enjoy the mysterious meat and traditional ballpark delights. I really hope that they don’t ruin a tradition by trying to make up fancy ass meals to serve out of a concession stand.

Of course I will tune in to see how the crew reacts with the pea-puree stealing Ed gone. I am also curious to see if Angelo’s flamboyant ass will continue to deteriorate into a heap of nothingness.

Tonight’s judge of honor will be seafood guru and Top Chef Masters star, Rick Moonen. Padma Lakshmi, Tom Colicchio and Eric Ripert will reprise their normal roles as the main judges on Top Chef DC.

Hopefully tonight, Bravo can deliver an episode of Top Chef DC that is actually enjoyable. Granted it is really hard to screw up a trip to a Baseball game, with the way this season has gone, I wouldn’t put it past them.

Tune in tonight as Top Chef DC airs at 10/9c on Bravo.
