Justin Bieber Rolling Stone: Sex, Selena Gomez, Abortion
Justin Bieber talks sex, abortions, Selena Gomez and America in latest issue of Rolling Stone.
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Justin Bieber opened up about a number of controversial issues. For example, when asked about how he felt about sex before marriage, Bieber tried to artfully dodge the question, saying, “I don’t think you should have sex with anyone unless you love them,” and when further pressed about his feelings towards abstinence said, “I think you should just wait for the person…you’re in love with.” Sounds like a fine answer to me, but I’m not one of Justin’s PR people who undoubtedly want Bieber to maintain a pristine, pure image (like his promise ring wearing girlfriend Selena Gomez).
During the same interview, the reporter caught an eyeful of Justin’s desktop image, which was of him and Selena against the backdrop of an orange-hued sunset. Unsurprising.
Justin Bieber also spoke up about abortion, saying “I don’t really believe in abortion. It’s like killing a baby?” Bieber definitely got points with the Christian Republicans on that one, for when asked about how he felt about rape victims having abortions, Bieber stood by his opinion, saying, “Um. Well, I think that’s really sad, but everything happens for a reason. I guess I haven’t been in that position, so I wouldn’t be able to judge that.” Clearly, Bieber hasn’t been in the position of being pregnant either, but that didn’t stop the naïve teen from weighing in on the abortion issue just seconds before.
This would be enough to have Justin Bieber in time-out from his PR reps, but Bieber took things even further when asked if he would ever consider becoming an American citizen. “You guys are evil,” the Canadian pop star declared. “Canada’s the best country in the world. We go to the doctor and we don’t need to worry about paying him, but here, your whole life, you’re broke because of medical bills. My bodyguard’s baby was premature, and now he has to pay for it. In Canada, if your baby’s premature, he stays in the hospital for as long as he needs to, and then you go home.”
Ah, how wondrously naïve it is to be young! The 16-year-old star will doubtlessly get a lot of criticism for this latest interview, but it’s clear that the pop star has a lot to learn about life, and at 16, a lot of kids don’t know how they feel about mature issues (or if they do, they may come to feel very differently just a few years later).
