Christina Aguilera’s Bad Luck
Christina Aguilera screwed up the National Anthem at the Super Bowl and fell last night at the 2011 Grammy Awards.
Christina Aguilera hasn’t been having the best of luck, lately. The glamorous pop star blundered through her performance at last week’s Super Bowl, forgetting a few lines of the National Anthem. And last night at the Grammy Awards, the diva lost some footing after singing a tribute to Aretha Franklin.
Christina was bowing at yesterday’s Grammy Awards when she almost tripped, but she was able to grab hold of a microphone stand before sprawling, or anything. And Aretha Franklin appeared at the end of the performance from her Detroit home expressing warm feelings to everyone watching. “I cannot tell you how thrilled I am to be with you all tonight, but since I couldn’t, next year, OK?” said Ms. Franklin, who has reportedly been battling pancreatic cancer.
While some have been criticizing Christina Aguilera’s rendition of “Natural Woman,” hating on the singer’s vocal abilities seems kind of lame. Christina Aguilera is a fantastic singer, with a strong voice that can’t be rivalled by many of the dime-a-dozen pop stars that have had their vocals digitally altered so we can bear listening to their radio wails.
Christina was also joined on stage by Jennifer Hudson, Florence Welch, Yolanda Adams, and Martina McBride.
