Grammy Awards 2011: Dr. Dre, Justin Bieber, Bob Dylan, Lady Gaga

2011 grammy awardsSunday the 2011 Grammy Awards will air on CBS and Dr. Dre – Bob Dylan have just been added to the performer lineup.

The Grammy Awards 2011 air Sunday night February 13th at 8PM on CBS and today there were a few more performers (Bob Dylan, Dr. Dre) added to the lineup to help round out the show. Not like we needed any more performers with big names like Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga already announced.

Added today were rock icon Bob Dylan and hip hop legend Dr. Dre. Dylan will be performing with the folk band Avett Brothers and rock band Mumford & Sons in a salute to acoustic music. Mumford & Sons are nominated this year for two awards, Best New Artist and Best Rock Song for their song “Little Lion Man.”

Dr. Dre will hit the stage with his long time protégé and collaborator Eminem whose amazing comeback this year has been one of the biggest stories in music. His album Recovery has sold more than 6 million copies and has earned him 10 Grammy nominations. The Grammy Awards, once afraid to nominate him or have anything to do with him because of his controversial nature, seem to have embraced Eminem. Dre and Eminem will be joined on stage by Maroon 5’s Adam Levine, which is an interesting grouping. I look forward to seeing what they come up with.

Rounding out the rest of the scheduled performers are: Arcade Fire, Lady Antebellum, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Barbra Streisand, Cee lo Green, Mick Jagger, Justin Bieber and Bruno Mars. As the Grammy’s always seems to do they have matched classic, iconic artists with some of the hottest new talent for what looks like a well-rounded lineup – although I’m not 100% sure what Barbara Streisand is doing in there.

Tune in Sunday night on CBS to watch them all perform and see who wins the major categories during the 2011 Grammy Awards.
