Lady Gaga 2011: “Born This Way” Single Countdown!
Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” will be released tomorrow!
Lady Gaga has changed the release date of her next single, “Born this Way,” to tomorrow! Gaga was expected to premiere the track in a live performance at the Grammys, but the diva tweeted “Can’t wait any longer, single coming Friday.”
“Born this Way,” will be the first single from Lady Gaga’s next album of the same name, which will be released in May of this year. Gossip blogger Perez Hilton is one of a privileged few who were lucky enough to hear the track before everyone else. He gushed about the song on his blog, writing, “Fans can expect all the hype to be true with ‘Born This Way’ and with the album…And you know what? It is a very gay song — unapologetically, gay-in-your-face gay — but it’s also a universal song that can relate to everyone.” Apparently, Elton John has similar feelings about the track; Gaga claims that the superstar called it the “gayest song” he has ever heard.
Lady Gaga also revealed the artwork for the album on Tuesday, which features the performer donned in heavy makeup in a side angle pose. Some have compared the cover art to Kylie Minogue’s “2 Hearts” album, but personally, I don’t really see it. They’re both wearing heavy eyeliner but Kylie Minogue resembles a female Ziggy Stardust while Lady Gaga looks like her usual self, really.
In related news, Britney Spears also has an album in the works… “Femme Fatale” will be release March 25, 2011 but Britney’s hot single “Hold it Against Me” has been dominating the air waves. If you haven’t yet heard it, be sure to check it out!
