Steven Tyler: ‘American Idol’ 2011 San Francisco Auditions Rocked!
Steven Tyler praised the contestants of the San Francisco American Idol auditions.
A new episode of American Idol will air tonight, and this will be the last stop for Idol auditions. Tonight’s episode features hopefuls in San Francisco, where Ryan Seacrest and judges trekked in search of a singer with Big Talent.
Rockstar-turned-judge Steven Tyler was enthused about the Cali crowd, saying “San Francisco is incredible, yesterday was at least eight people, I’m saying hopefully today will put it-bring it to twenty.”
The contestants on tonight’s episode are certainly a colorful group; contestant Drew Beaumier spoke to the camera crews, saying, “I understand it’s a singing competition, I, I’m not trying to wear the suit as a joke I just, you know, you’re auditioning with 20,000 people I needed to find a way to stand out.”
Other contestants opted for a more classic approach, dressed casually and confident that their singing abilities were enough to get them a ticket to Hollywood. Take LA-native Gabrielle Frickleton, for example. “I feel like I’m ready for it now. You know, it wouldn’t have been good if I’d come three years ago I would have just probably been resentful towards the process now I kind of feel like I’m paying my dues,” explained the hopeful.
Tonight’s episode of American Idol will have a lot of creative, gimmicky types but there is also a nice amount of variety that should keep things interesting. Be sure to tune in to FOX to see what could be the best audition episode to date!
