super bowl commercials2011 Super Bowl XLV aired a ton of commercials last night and Bud Light – Doritos tied for 1st place while Justin Bieber and Kim Kardashian’s flopped.

Last night’s 2011 Super Bowl XLV was a great match up on the field but how did the commercials do? USA Today released a Super Bowl Ad Meter that shows what people thought of last night’s ads. Budweiser’s Bud Light dog sitting commercial and Doritos puppy running through the glass door tied for first place. The Justin Bieber and Ozzy Osbourne Best Buy ad was pretty awful and ranked 53rd while the “sexy” Kim Kardashian and her Skechers ad came in at #47.

I have to hand it to Budweiser (Bud Light), Doritos and Pepsi for having a ton of Super Bowl commercials in the top 20. The two that tied for first place both involve dogs as the Doritos one has a puppy running through a door to get to a chip and the Bud Light one involves dog sitting where the dogs throw a party. Perhaps the funniest of the night for me was the Pepsi Max “Love Hurts” video in which an innocent blonde gets a soda to the head. The most bizarre is the Doritos commercial in which a guy licks another guy’s finger and then later on rips the pants off a guy who wiped Doritos on them…weird.

Perhaps the most talked about ads were the biggest disappointments to me. The Justin BieberOzzy Osbourne commercial for Best Buy was downright stupid. Another highly talked about ad was the Kim Kardashian commercial for Skechers which was supposed to be sexy. Granted to 1 second zoom shot on Kim K’s ass was great… the whole idea of the commercial was stupid. She dumps her personal trainer for a pair of shoes? Lame!

In case you missed all of the 2011 Super Bowl XLV commercials last night, head on over to the USA Today Super Bowl Ad Meter.
