Super Bowl 2011: Lea Michele, Christina Aguilera, Black Eyed Peas [POLL]
The 2011 Super Bowl XLV had quite the entertainment line-up; how did the stars do?
The 2011 Super Bowl XLV pitted the Green Bay Packers vs. Pittsburgh Steelers and there was quite the entertainer line-up to accompany the two teams. To kick things off, Glee star Lea Michele took centerfield and sang “America the Beautiful” and sounded amazing doing so. Once she finished, Christina Aguilera came out to sing the national anthem. Aguilera completely botched it, messing up some of the lines…good job. The half-time show didn’t get any better as the Black Eyed Peas were god awful. Watching Fergie sing with Slash on the guitar made my head hurt and I actually turned the TV off. Apparently Usher came out and performed decently but by that point there was no recovery from a disastrous Super Bowl XLV half time show.
What went wrong with the performances at Super Bowl 2011? I can’t hate on Lea Michele as she sang beautifully and kicked the game off with a bang. Christina Aguilera sounded amazing and it would have been perfect had she not screwed up the damn words to our NATIONAL ANTHEM! Botching the words aside, the 2 Super Bowl XLV pre-game performances were 1000 times better than the Black Eyed Peas at the half-time show. Jerry Jones and his billion dollar stadium need to hire a better sound person because it was awful. Will I. Am’s mic was turned way up while everyone else’s was turned down…it really sounded ridiculous. Let’s not even mention the whole auto-tune synthesizer shit they were using which I hate with a passion.
The half-time show may not have been the best ever but the game itself was pretty damn good. The Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers were a great matchup and it was one hell of a Super Bowl. We want to congratulate Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers for their Super Bowl XLV victory.
