Anderson Cooper Attacked on Groundhog Day 2011 [VIDEO]
CNN reporter Anderson Cooper was attacked in Cairo, Egypt on Groundhog Day.
Anderson Cooper was attacked in Cairo, Egypt as him and his CNN crew was covering the events in Tahrir Square. Cooper was punched 10 times in the head and his crew was also attacked by a pro-Mubarak mob who did not want to be filmed. While people are wondering if Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow on Groundhog Day around the world, Anderson Cooper is reporting in a hostile environment over in Egypt.
Shortly after Anderson Cooper was attacked by Egyptian demonstrators he released a video which explains the events that unfolded. In the video he claims that a mob surrounded him and his crew, punched him in the head and attempted to grab the cameras. I guess the pro-Mubarak’s did not want to be filmed.
As far as the whole Groundhog Day 2011 situation goes, it seems like Punxsutawney Phil did NOT see his shadow. That is good news for everyone who is sick and tired of the cold weather because no shadow equals an early spring!
