American Chopper: Senior Vs. Junior Recap: Premiere Teutul Tantrum

American Chopper: Senior Vs. Junior series premiere recap. American Chopper: Senior Vs. Junior takes on a Teutul Tantrum with its season premiere last night on TLC.

As first discussed in TLC’s American Chopper Brings On The Teutul Family Feud With Senior Vs. Junior, we were in for quite a ride with the premiere of the new custom chopper series.

The wait is finally over and last night, American Chopper: Senior Vs. Junior premiered in all of its dysfunctional family glory. The episode starts off with Mikey Tuetul and Paul Teutul Jr. being live on a local radio station. Suddenly, a caller goes live with the two brothers and we are surprised with the familiar voice of big daddy, Paul Teutul Sr.

Keep in mind that when the original series, “American Chopper” finished its run as a series, we left with Paul Teutul Jr. being fired from “Orange Country Choppers” by his father. Tension was high on the radio station and as we expected, a Teutul Tantrum broke out live, on the air. The father and son exchanged some choice words on the air as Mikey Teutul was just left there wondering what in the hell was going on.

As the first episode of American Chopper: Senior Vs. Junior progresses, we learn what is going to go down throughout the series.

It seems as if Paul Teutul Jr. has started up his own company, Paul Jr. Designs and plans on going head to head with his father to create custom bikes. Right off the bat we see that Paul Jr. has a ton of work ahead of him and that getting a new business off the ground is not as easy as he had hoped. Hopefully with a little help from good ol’ Vinnie (an ex-mechanic for Orange County Choppers), Jr. plans to surpass is father in creating fascinating custom choppers.

Paul Teutul Sr. is still hard at work running his empire, “Orange Country Choppers.” While this on-going feud and lawsuit with his son remains on his mind, he has to go forward with business as usual. Sr. can’t help but be a little nosey as we find him driving by Paul Teutul Jr’s newly bought bike shop. Whether or not Senior secretly wants to make things right with his son or is just trying to scope out the competition is something we will have to find out as the season progresses.

I am left with a sort of bittersweet happiness after watching the premiere of “American Chopper: Senior Vs. Junior last night. While I am happy the show has returned and we will get to see the Teutuls turn out some amazing custom choppers. It saddens me that a family that became so close with “American Chopper” has unraveled into a father/son rivalry.

This season it is all about competition as “American Chopper: Senior Vs. Junior” has father and son battling it out to produce the best custom bikes we have ever seen.

Tune in next week as “American Chopper: Senior VS. Junior” returns Thursday night at 9 PM (ET/PT) on TLC.
