Dunder Mifflin Daily: Will Ferrell on The Office Season 7

Will Ferrell has been hired as a temp on NBC’s The Office. Ferrell has previously starred with The Office’s frontman, Steve Carell (Michael Scott) in the awkwardly funny hit, “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy” Now the pair will be co-starring in 3 episodes, with Ferrell signed on to be a guest on 4 [episodes]. With these two acting together again, shenanigans will inevitably ensue (both on set and off!) The last episode will feature Will Ferrell on his own at Dunder Mifflin, because Carell is leaving the show 4 episodes before the season finale. What will fans do without their dose of Steve? Ferrell should do well at tiding them over for that one episode, at least.

Executive producer Steve Lieberstein speaks of Steve Carell and Will Ferrell in glowing terms, saying, “We found Steve Carell when he was nothing but a movie star and we turned him into a television star…We are proud to continue The Office’s tradition of discovering famous talent, and we hope that once America gets a good look at Will, they’ll see what we see: tremendous raw sexuality.”

Ferrell will be playing an inept branch manager who is visiting from the home office. His and Carell’s paired hilarity may be almost too much to manage, but do your best. The decision to have Ferrell on The Office Season 7 was definitely a good one; props to whoever organized that. Pure, delicious genius!
