Vince Neil’s Jail House Rock
Vince Neil is going to jail.
Vince Neil pleaded guilty to misdemeanor DUI and speeding charges stemming from his arrest in June 2010. The 49-year singer will serve 15 days in jail and an additional 15 days under house arrest.
In June of 1020 Neil was pulled over for speeding in Las Vegas and was then arrested for suspicion of DUI. He was released on a $2,000 bond and later entered a plea of not guilty. Vince Neil recently changed his plea after working out a plea deal with the Clark County D.A.
This is not Neil’s first DUI, but this one is much less dramatic than his previous. In 1984 Neil was involved in a car accident. He was driving with Hanoi Rocks singer Nicholas “Razzle” Dingley as a passenger. Neil crashed into another car. The accident killed Dingley and injured two of the occupants of the other car. Neil faced vehicular manslaughter charges and could have served years in jail if he were convicted. He eventually cut a deal that that gave him 30 days in jail (he served 15 days of it), 200 hours of community service and had him pay $2.5 million in restitution to the families of the victims.
This really goes to show that either Vince Neil doesn’t learn or he has a problem. After literally dodging the bullet back in 1984 he drinks and drives again. Someone with his means could easily pay for a cab or a car service, but his insistence on driving speaks volumes about him. He either is struggling with a drinking problem or he has a total disregard for himself or others.
He is scheduled to surrender on February 15th to begin serving his system. Hopefully he learns his lesson this time and never drinks and drives again.
