Tech Robot: Mark Zuckerberg, Google, Android 3.0 Honeycomb
Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook account hacked, Google coupon service and Android 3.0 Honeycomb preview release.
Mark Zuckerberg had his Facebook account hacked earlier yesterday and raised tons of security concerns. Google looks to go up against GroupOn with their own coupon service which is set to launch soon. Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) gets an SDK release for devs to preview before the Motorola XOOM launch.
First and foremost is the Facebook head honcho Mark Zuckerberg. It looks like being a billionaire social marketing genius doesn’t make you impervious to hackers. News went viral this morning as someone actually hacked Zuckerberg’s Facebook Fan page and went on some social business rant. The alleged intruder left #Hacker Cup 2011 at the bottom of the FB status which is an annual hacking tournament hosted via Facebook. Since the hacking incident, Mark Zuckerberg has released new security tools to help make Facebook a safer place.
Google is making news as it unveiled plans to launch its very own coupon program. Of course, Google attempted to buy out GroupOn (large online coupon program) for $6 billion and was turned down. Hopefully declining their offer does not come to bite GroupOn in the ass. Google Offers has yet to launch but I have a feeling it is going to dominate once it does. No word on when Google will launch their new service but make sure you keep your eyes peeled.
Last but not least is the release of the Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) SDK. As we patiently await the Motorola XOOM tablet which will feature Honeycomb, we can get a nice little preview. While the “preview” release of Android 3.0 is not final by any means, it will certainly help out developers get ready for the XOOM tablet and whatever other tablet might be released this year.
