Miley Cyrus set a record Sunday night when her Hannah Montana finale aired on Disney. Former American Idol contestant Alex Lambert is not homeless, despite some reports. We also want to say Happy Birthday to Edgar Allan Poe who turns a whopping 202 today.

First up is the beloved star of Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus. It looks like Sunday night Miley went out with a bang when her hit TV show aired its series finale. A record-breaking 6 million viewers tuned in as the said farewell to Hannah Montana for good. We want to wish Miley the best of luck with her career and future as an actress/singer. Be sure you check her out in the upcoming film “LOL” which also stars Demi Moore and Ashley Greene.

Former American Idol contestant Alex Lambert was rumored to be homeless yesterday. Lambert who competed in last season’s Idol tweeted yesterday that he was homeless, living in the streets. Now a spokesperson for the American Idol production company “19 Entertainment” quickly debunked the tweets and said that Lambert is not homeless. He is getting money monthly and working on demos in the studio. I smell a publicity stunt to further move along his future career in the music industry. Alex Lambert then went back to his Twitter saying that he did not lie, he was sleeping outside. Answer me this one question: If you are homeless how the hell are you tweeting? (Idiot)

Last but not least is Edgar Allan Poe which is trending today because it’s his birthday. Poe was born on January 19, 1809 and is one of the most famous American writers, leaving behind a legacy of literary masterpieces. Edgar Allan Poe penned such poems as:  The Tell-Tale Heart, The Pit and the Pendulum and The Raven. In honor of his 202nd birthday the L.A. Times Blog has offered perhaps his most famous poem, “The Raven” in all of its glory. [View It Here] Happy Birthday Edgar Allan Poe and thank you for all of your poetic masterpieces.

  1. Tim, Alex Lambert explained how he was tweeting while being homeless: he is going to coffee shops and stores to connect to the Internet. I would guess that he also still has a mobile phone, since having a mobile phone is more important to carrying on his career than a home is. It was nice to hear that “19” is still paying him while he produces demos. I’d bet they are paying him enough to rent a small apartment with a roommate, so he’s probably partying too much and spending that money in other ways rather than on a home. He should hook up with his “If I Can Dream” housemate, Justin Gaston, who seems a bit more grounded and reliable. Watching Lambert on “If I Can Dream,” it became apparent that he has some really bad qualities and has a lot of growing up to do, but he also has some lovable qualities and his talent is astounding, beyond compare. People deserve to hear what he has to offer, it’s that good. I only hope he can learn to grow up enough to focus on the work at hand and produce a great first record.
