“American Idol” Rewind: Kelly Clarkson Season 1 Winner
American Idol is celebrating its 10th year anniversary and in honor of the hit show we take a look back at Kelly Clarkson.
Kelly Clarkson still remains to this day as the best “American Idol” winner in the shows 9 year history. As we begin the 10th year anniversary tomorrow of the hit FOX show, let us reflect on the season 1 winner who made history. I know this is strictly my personal opinion but I’d love to hear an argument against Clarkson being the best AI winner in the shows history.
Granted I have to give credit to Carrie Underwood as she comes in a close 2nd place but Kelly Clarkson is the original. Clarkson entered the American Idol competition back in 2002. She went on to be crowned the first Idol winner and took the music world by storm.
After winning American Idol, Kelly Clarkson’s debut album “Thankful” was released and debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 charts. From there it was nothing short of an amazing career as Clarkson is still the best selling winner in American Idol history. She has sold 36 million singles and 23 million albums worldwide and has also dabbled in acting.
As we get ready for the American Idol 2011 Season 10 premiere tomorrow night at 8|7c on FOX, enjoy this video clip of Kelly Clarkson singing “A Moment Like This” at the American Idol Season 1 finale:
