British Academy of Film Awards (BAFTA) 2011 just announced the nominees for its highly anticipated ceremony. The BAFTA’s are a pretty big deal as most say it is the British equivalent to our Oscars. Apart from The King’s Speech and Black Swan, several other amazing movies are nominated. The Christopher Nolan film Inception which stars Leonardo DiCaprio received nine nominations. James Franco and his 127 Hours film received eight and then there is True Grit. The western remake by the Coen Brothers also received eight nominations and with a cast that includes: Matt Damon, Jeff Bridges, Josh Brolin and Hailee Steinfeld, I’d expect no less.

It will surely be a night to remember when the 2011 British Academy of Film Awards (BAFTA) takes place at London’s Royal Opera House on February 13th.
