Former “American Idol” contestant Kristy Lee Cook has been through a bit of rough patch in her pursuit to become the next big country superstar. In a turnaround of luck for the aspiring country star, Kristy is set to host her own reality TV show, “Goin’ Country.”

In a recent interview with the Chicago Press Release, Kristy Lee stated: “I know a lot of people who watch hunting shows and they get kind of bored with … the same old thing, in the stand doing this and that. So we tried to make it a little more real life with my music life in Nashville, trying to make it as a singer, and my life at home with the horses and barrel racing and my foundation for rescuing horses, and then hunting as well.”

In all actuality, Versus TV has raised the bar on this reality show. They have taken Kristy Lee Cook, a former “American Idol” contestant and intertwined her passion for singing and hunting into a reality show.

In case you have been living as sheltered life and don’t know who Kristy Lee Cook is, I will give you a quick breakdown.

She was voted off “American Idol” before she reached the finale but Kristy Lee Cook still managed to get a record deal with Arista Records, releasing one record before things turned for the worse. Cook was ultimately dropped from the label and her dreams of a singing career were shattered.

She claims that she was happy that Arista dropped her because she wasn’t getting the attention she deserved. Instead of focusing on Kristy Lee, Arista had all of its resources backing the country sensation and former Idol Winner, Carrie Underwood.

Are you a fan of country music, hunting and the great outdoors? If you find yourself answering yes to all these questions then Kristy Lee Cook’s “Goin’ Country” is the perfect reality TV show for you.

Tune into Versus TV for Kristy Lee Cook’s “Goin’ Country.”
