Tech Robot: Atrix and Motorola Xoom
Atrix by Motorola makes big waves as CES 2011 with its impressive 4G features and specs. Motorola XOOM tablet also caused quite a stir as the iPad just got a strong competitor.
Atrix 4G, the new Motorola phone was debuted at CES 2011 and it looks pretty damn impressive. AT&T will launch the new Android based device which packs quite a technological punch. The Atrix 4G will feature a dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, fingerprint reader, HD video capture and a 960×540 display. The Atrix by Motorola also features an HD Dock and Laptop Dock to add to the Android experience outside of the 4G phone. The HD dock features usb ports, HDMI out and connections for a keyboard, mouse and speakers. The Laptop dock features an 11.6 inch screen, full keyboard, speakers, a three cell battery which will give you up to 8 hours of life.
In an attempt to go head to head with the Apple iPad, the Motorola XOOM tablet made its debut as CES 2011. The XOOM will be heading to Verizon sporting Android OS 3.0 (Honeycomb) and will undoubtedly give the iPad a run for its money. Features of the new XOOM tablet include: 1 GHz dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, 10.1” screen with a resolution of 1280×800, 720p video capture / 1080p video playback, 5MP rear-facing camera as well as a 2MP front-facing cam, 32gb of onboard storage and 1GB DDR2 ram. When it is launched it will have both WiFi and 3G support, getting a 4G LTE upgrade when it becomes available. From the videos I have seen, the Motorola XOOM looks promising and I think Apple is a little frightened at this Android 3.0 tablet making its way to the market.
