Top Chef DC Contestant Kenny Gilbert Heads To South Florida
Top Chef DC contestant Kenny Gilbert gets a killer gig as executive chef at the PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, FL.
With reports of Kenny Gilbert taking the gig at PGA National, is it safe to say he didn’t win Top Chef?
Thus far in the DC based season, a bitter rivalry between cheftestant Angelo and Kenny Gilbert has already begun. Both chefs demonstrate precise technique and the ability to create exquisite dishes.
Even this early in the season, it would not be a long shot to say that the finale would come down to Kenny and Angelo battling it out for the coveted cash prize and title of Top Chef.
Recent news surrounding Kenny Gilbert’s gig with the PGA National Resort & Spa subtly puts a damper on those predictions. While the finale still may end with Angel and Kenny, we can almost be certain Kenny does not win.
I just have a feeling that a chef of Kenny’s caliber would not be taking a job as an executive chef if he had just won $125,000.
Of course, I could be completely wrong, as this is just my opinion on the whole situation. Maybe Kenny still wins Top Chef and decides to put the money away while he expands his culinary knowledge.
Congratulations to Kenny for his job as the executive chef at the PGA National Resort & Spa and good luck for the rest of the Top Chef DC season.
