Gwyneth Paltrow Post-Partum Depression Newsletter
Gwyneth Paltrow Post-Partum Depression Newsletter: Gwyneth Paltrow reveals she struggles with post-partum and post-natal depression in her most recent newsletter on goop.com.
Gwyneth Paltrow is no stranger to discussing somewhat controversial medical and well-being topics on her website goop.com. This week, she teams up with ‘Twilight’ star Bryce Dallas and two medical doctors to educate women on the debilitating mood and hormone fluctuations. Gwyneth Paltrow suffered severe post-partum after the birth of her second child Moses. Gwyneth revealed, “When my son, Moses, came into the world in 2006, I expected to have another period of euphoria following his birth, much the way I had when my daughter was born two years earlier. Instead I was confronted with one of the darkest and most painfully debilitating chapters of my life. For about five months I had, what I can see in hindsight as postnatal depression, and since that time, I have wanted to know more about it.” Bryce Dallas added to the bog newsletter, “In those moments after giving birth, I felt nothing,” she says, explaining that she hardly recalls giving birth. She says she called her son “it” instead of by his name, and couldn’t bring herself to breastfeed at times because of the pain.
Gwyneth Paltrow’s website goop.com contains helpful newsletters, healthy recipes, vacation ideas, shopping, and anything inspirational according to Gwyneth. Critics have slammed Gwyneth Paltrow for some of the advice she gives on the site. Meat free Monday and the three week long toxic body cleanse have been the butt of late night jokes and even inspired a few parody websites. The award-winning actress continues her work to educate and promote a healthy lifestyle despite the criticism.
