Gerry Rafferty Dies: Third Celebrity Death of 2011

Gerry Rafferty dies, bringing in the third dead celebrity of the New Year. The first death was actor Pete Postlethwaite and then Bill Erwin died the other day. We always know that celeb deaths come in threes and it looks like the first trifecta is already out of the way.

For those who don’t know Gerry Rafferty, he was a Scottish singer who was known for his hit “Stuck in the Middle with You.” Rafferty was hospitalized back in November for liver failure and had not recovered. While the official reasoning for the dead singer had not been released, I am the liver failure was a contributing factor.

  1. Actually, BILL ERWIN departed on 29 December 2010, while ANNE FRANCIS did depart on 2 January so there you have the correct three names so far for 2011 – ANNE FRANCIS – PETE POSTLETHWAITE – GERRY RAFFERTY.
