Bieber Fever 2010: Justin Dominates American Music Awards!
Justin Bieber dominated last night’s 2010 American Music Awards.
Last night at the 2010 American Music Awards, 16-year-old Justin Bieber swept the board, winning himself 4 AMA’s, including Artist of the Year, beating out Usher and Eminem. He is the youngest artist to ever win the entertainer award.
Usher, who Justin Bieber referred to as one of his mentors, was overjoyed by the teen’s win, even tearing up at times, he said, “To see Justin take the award – having received that award before – it was like an out of body experience, you understand? It was emotional. I don’t cry that often, but I did. Hopefully it gives an indication of how hard we worked to build a career that hopefully will flourish and blossom over the years.”
The teen idol Justin Bieber gave a genuine acceptance speech when he won breakthrough artist stating, “I’m from the smallest town in the world of, like, 30,000 people, I never thought this was possible.” He thanked Michael Jackson when he picked up the pop artist prize, saying, “Without Michael Jackson, none of us would be here.”
Later that night Bieber performed, “Pray,” a song off his forthcoming album, “My Worlds Acoustic” which will be released this week at Walmart.
Justin Bieber was raised in Stratford, Ontario, but now lives in the United States; was discovered in 2008 by Scooter Braun, who found Bieber’s video on YouTube. Braun arranged for Bieber to meet with Usher, who then later signed him on to his own record label. His last album “My World 2.0” has sold almost 2 million copies in the United States.
