Lollapalooza 2010 – Green Day, The Strokes and Lady Gaga
The Lineup for this years Lollapalooza has been announced for the August 6-8 music festival. With headliners Green Day, Sound Garden, the Strokes, Lady Gaga, Phoenix, and well over another 100 bands, this year has a great sounding lineup. Even though I’m not sure how Lady Gaga fits into the Lollapalooza mix, I’m going to keep an open mind and go with it.
The festival will be in held in Chicago again, at Grant Park. Here are some of the other acts that have been named; Arcade Fire, Social Distortion, MGMT Jimmy Cliff, Hot Chip, The Black Keys, Spoon, DEVO, Slightly Stoopid, The New Pornographers, Erykah Badu, Cypress Hill, Gogol Bordello, Wolfmother, MUTEMATH, AFI, Matt & Kim, Blues Traveler Switchfoot, Hockey, and much more.
With a good mix of rock, hip-hop, pop, more pop and some even funk, this year’s Lollapalooza seems to be very promising. Prices for the three day festival are $90 for one day, $215 for three days, and if you have the money and don’t want to mix with the common folk, VIP is $850 for all three days.
Lollapalooza also is having a contest this year to see who can rock the house the best remixes. You start off by making your own production tracks, then contestants get whittled down to remix artists that Lollapalooza staff will choose. Eventually the winner will spin on the Perry Stage. More info here.
Don’t wait to get your tickets, this year sounds like it will be a Lollapalooza that will go down in the books as a true show stopper.
