Tupac Biopic Gets The Greenlight

tupacQuite possibly one of the greatest rappers to ever live, Tupac Shakur, will have his story told on the big screen via director Antoine Fuqua.

Fuqua, who is best known for his role as director on the masterpiece “Training Day” will tackle the life of legendary rapper Tupac Shakur. It will be very interesting to see how detailed Fuqua is going to get with the whole East Coast vs West Coast rivalry between Notorius B.I.G. and Tupac.

In a recent interview with Digital Spy, Antoine says: “It looks like we’re doing Tupac Shakur’s movie next in September, that’s what I’ve been starting up and working on now. I’ve been working on that for a while with Morgan Creek and Jim Robinson. I just got the greenlight from him and we’re going in September. I’ve just started to prep that.”

Tupac, quite possibly one of the best rappers to ever live was shrouded by a rollercoaster career with both its ups and downs. Violence, sexual assault,drugs and prison time all played an integral part in this young African-Americans career as a hip-hop artist.

Shakur may have been murdered in September of 1996 but he left a legacy that will never be forgotten. With over 75 million records sold, Tupac is one of the best selling music artists in the world.

As Fuqua claims, production on the Tupac Shakur biopic will begin in September of this year. Be sure to keep your eye out for when it hits the big screens.
